Post-publication Discussion

Journal of English Language Teaching and Education (JELTE) encourages open, constructive, and scholarly discussion concerning articles published in the journal. The journal recognizes that post-publication discussion is an important part of academic communication and can contribute to the clarification, improvement, and development of knowledge in the field of English language teaching and education.

Readers who identify questions, concerns, comments, or substantive observations regarding a published article are encouraged to communicate them to the Editor through the official journal contact information. Comments should be presented in a professional, evidence-based, and constructive manner and should clearly identify the published article to which they refer.

Upon receiving a post-publication comment or concern, the Editor will conduct an initial assessment of its relevance and academic basis. Where appropriate, the Editor may:

  • request clarification or additional information from the author(s);
  • invite the original author(s) to respond to the comment;
  • request an additional assessment from an independent reviewer or subject expert;
  • publish a scholarly response or correspondence related to the article;
  • issue a Correction Notice when an error is identified; or
  • initiate the journal's procedures for an Expression of Concern or Retraction when there is substantial evidence affecting the integrity of the published work.

Post-publication comments and responses will be evaluated according to the principles of academic integrity, fairness, transparency, and respectful scholarly communication. The journal does not publish comments that contain personal attacks, discriminatory language, unsupported allegations, or material unrelated to the scholarly content of the article.

Where a concern involves potential research or publication misconduct, the matter will be handled in accordance with JELTE's Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy and other applicable publication-ethics procedures.

The purpose of post-publication discussion is to maintain a transparent and reliable scholarly record while providing authors and readers with an appropriate opportunity to engage in constructive academic dialogue.
