Authorship

Journal of English Language Teaching and Education (JELTE) recognizes authorship as both academic credit and responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and ethical conduct of the published work.

A person may be listed as an author only when they have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript and accept responsibility for the published work. Each author is expected to meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution
The individual has made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, acquisition of data, analysis, or interpretation of the research findings.
  2. Manuscript Preparation
The individual has drafted the manuscript or critically revised it for significant intellectual content.
  3. Final Approval
The individual has reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before publication.
  4. Accountability
The individual agrees to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of their contribution and to assist in addressing any questions or concerns related to the work.

All individuals who fulfill these criteria should be included in the author list. Authorship should not be granted solely on the basis of academic position, seniority, institutional authority, supervision, funding, reputation, or personal relationships.

JELTE encourages authors to provide an Author Contributions Statement describing the specific contribution of each author. The journal may use the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to identify contributions such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing, supervision, and project administration.

Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Their contributions may instead be recognized in the Acknowledgements section.

The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all listed authors meet the authorship requirements, that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript, and that the author list and order have been agreed upon by all authors.

Any changes to the author list after submission, including adding, removing, or changing the order of authors, must be justified and approved in writing by all affected authors and are subject to the approval of the Editor.

JELTE does not permit honorary, gift, guest, coercive, ghost, purchased, fictitious, or unauthorized authorship. Suspected authorship manipulation may result in suspension of the editorial process, rejection, correction, retraction, or referral to the relevant institution in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
