Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Journal of English Language Teaching and Education (JELTE) encourages authors to promote transparency, accessibility, and reproducibility of scholarly research by sharing relevant research data, instruments, materials, and other supporting information whenever ethically and legally possible.

Authors are encouraged to provide sufficient methodological information to allow other researchers to understand, evaluate, and, where appropriate, reproduce the research procedures and findings.

Data Sharing

Where applicable, authors may share:

  • research datasets;
  • questionnaires and survey instruments;
  • interview protocols;
  • research instruments and assessment materials;
  • coding schemes or analytical frameworks;
  • research protocols and procedures;
  • statistical analysis files or code; and
  • other supplementary materials supporting the published research.

Shared materials may be deposited in a suitable institutional or disciplinary repository. Authors should provide a persistent link, DOI, or other appropriate identifier in the manuscript when such materials are publicly available.

Ethical and Legal Considerations

Authors must ensure that data sharing complies with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property requirements.

Research data containing personally identifiable, confidential, or sensitive information must not be made publicly available unless appropriate consent and safeguards are in place. Where data cannot be openly shared, authors should provide a clear explanation of the restriction.

Data Availability Statement

JELTE encourages authors to include a Data Availability Statement where relevant. Examples include:

Data available: The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.

Publicly available data: The data supporting this study are available in [………..] […………………..].

Data not publicly available: The data are not publicly available because they contain information that could compromise the privacy of research participants.

No applicable data: This study did not generate or analyze datasets and therefore does not require a data availability statement.

Reproducibility

Authors should provide sufficient detail about their research design, methods, instruments, data analysis, and procedures to enable readers and other researchers to understand and assess the research.

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to provide the materials, analytical procedures, code, or other information necessary to support verification and reproducibility of the reported findings.

JELTE recognizes that the level of data sharing and reproducibility may differ according to the nature of the research. The journal therefore considers ethical, legal, disciplinary, and practical limitations when evaluating data-sharing practices.

All authors remain responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and availability of the research materials and information they provide.
