Allegations of Research Misconduct

Misconduct covered: fabrication, falsification, plagiarism (including self-plagiarism and translation plagiarism), duplicate/redundant publication, authorship manipulation, citation manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research on human participants (including lack of consent from minors' parents/guardians), and manipulation of peer review.

Procedure: JECL follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and relevant COPE guidance when handling allegations and suspected misconduct.

. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges the allegation, reviews evidence confidentially, requests an explanation from the authors, and, if needed, contacts the authors' institution. Outcomes range from no action, correction, or rejection to retraction and notification of the institution. Allegations may be sent to the journal email; anonymous reports are considered if supported by specific evidence.
