Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to JECL: Journal of English Classroom Learning and Instruction are screened with Turnitin or another recognized similarity-detection tool before review. Acceptable overall similarity: ≤20% (excluding references and quotations), with no single source >3%.

When an author uses the exact words of another source, the source must be properly cited and the borrowed wording must be clearly identified as a quotation in accordance with APA 7th edition referencing practices. Authors should avoid excessive verbatim quotations and should primarily present research findings and ideas in their own scholarly language while appropriately acknowledging the original sources.

Plagiarism detected after publication is handled through the Corrections and Retractions procedure.
